Abstract :
In this paper we deal with the study of electron-wave amplifier (EWA) based on the transparent traveling wave tube (TWT). The case of the formation of electron flow with double-humped distribution function of the electron velocity in the interaction space of the investigated device is considered. The results of investigating the dependence of the gain of electron-wave amplifier on the magnitude of the negative potential on the focusing electrode, on the length of interaction space, and on the input power are obtained. Based on the analysis of the experimental results a number of steps to improve the output characteristics of the electron-wave amplifiers based on transparent TWT are developed and proposed.
