Abstract :
Summary form only given. So far, the condition that enables the magnetic domain control of the free layer to obtain high sensitivity as well as good signal stability performance of the narrow-track read heads has not been determined. In this paper, we describe the importance of the strength of the magnetic control field at the edge of the free layer as well as its distribution. We calculated the transfer curve of the heads by using LLG simulation which took the geometric effects of the magnetic control layer into consideration, because the linearity and gradient of the transfer curve are strongly related to the stability and sensitivity of the head, respectively.
