Abstract
Statistical mathematical models arising from the acoustic scattering of an underwater object are derived. Global and local models that are obtained by the singularity expansion method are considered. A parametric inverse problem is formulated on the basis of ARMAX models. The related identification algorithms and parameter estimation problems are examined, and an identification algorithm is developed for the multistatic case
