Abstract
Summary form only given. The flying height in future hard disk drives is expected to decrease below 10nm. Under those conditions the performance of the lubricant layer becomes increasingly more important. Head-disk interactions lead to lubricant rearrangement and possibly lubricant degradation on the surface of the disk. It is, therefore, very important to understand the spreading behavior of thin film polymeric lubricants.
