Abstract
A simple, noniterative algorithm is presented for resolving closely space sinusoids. The method is based on a maximum-likelihood algorithm and is specifically designed to resolve two signals of similar power with minimum complexity. The algorithm consists of three phases: conventional beamforming, beamforming with a projection operator, and solution of a single nonlinear equation. It is shown that the method can be applied to more than two signals and to the colored noise case
