Abstract
Evaluation of possibility of microwave heating for recrystallization of viscous products in railway tanks has shown high efficiency of this method in comparison with existing ones. Dielectric properties of petrolatum were investigated experimentally and possibility of using microwave energy to heat it up to temperature of 80 °C was analyzed. Bases for creation of microwave heating installation were developed by using slot antennas. Conceptual design of mobile installation to heat and drain viscous petrolatum from railway tanks with microwave power of 100 kW at a frequency 915 MHz was created.
