Abstract :
Some design and implementation issues of the Ogham kernel for distributed operating systems are presented. Ogham is based on an object model, with all objects accessed in a location-independent fashion using a specialized communication facility. Resource managers are realized as processes that are free to migrate throughout the system. Ogham is designed to allow local-area-interconnected microcomputers to be used as a computing facility for the investigation of distributed operating systems and related topics
