Abstract
The broadcasting packet number and network performance are influenced by the construction method of multipoint relay set. Based on the available bandwidth estimation, an adaptive relay node selecting mechanism is proposed. Considering the backoff duration, frame collision and channel utilization, the bandwidth is estimated by all of the nodes in the network; then the node with the largest bandwidth is selected as the relay node for the bottleneck path. Results show that the packet delivery ratio and end-to-end delay are improved, though the number of entries in the relay set and the broadcasting packets increases.
