Abstract :
The power quality has become a real problem due to the increasing use of power electronics and sensitive load equipment. The power quality depends on the instantaneous line voltage waveforms around the rated voltage and the instantaneous line current waveforms. The voltage quality can be easily controlled by the series inverter in the line and the current quality is compensated by the shunt inverter across the line to line. In this paper, we propose and investigate the utility power quality control system using a three phase inverter module which is operated as the hybrid compensator with the series and shunt inverter. The control system can be also operated as the interconnecting inverter for the renewable energy source. The system can be constructed easily without any transformer. We describe and propose the simple power quality control system, and show the control method in detail to operate the system. The operation of the proposed system will be verified by some simulation and experimental results.
