Abstract
Dipole antennas and their arrays are widely used in most of the communication applications. The analysis and synthesis of the arrays becomes simple, if the coupling is neglected as in the case of classical array theory. However, in the case of arrays of wire antennas there exists mutual coupling between the adjacent elements of the array. Moreover, the radiation properties of the array with such widely spaced elements are not suitable. This is because the radiation patterns are found to contain multiple beams.
