Abstract
Treadmill locomotor training with partial body weight support has shown promise for patients with neurological deficits that prevent them from walking. Although some successes have been seen, the procedure when performed by three physical therapists lacks quantitative data. This project involves creating an artificial leg to be hung from a frame over a treadmill as a simulation tool to collect meaningful data in an effort to understand how the procedure can best benefit patients and how physical therapists can be trained to perform the procedure uniformly.
