Abstract :
The case studies of ISDN introduction in developing countries made by the International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee, Special Autonomous Group 9 (CCITT GAS9) are described. The case studies are based on actual countries, and cover market demand, introduction policy, technical considerations, network planning, operation and maintenance, financial and tariff aspects, and human resources. It is shown that the country size and the present stage of network development strongly influence the approaches taken by each country
