Abstract :
Summary form only given. The properties of electrical steels strongly depend on the grain structure - dimensions, texture, number of defects. There are various methods of investigations of the grain structure - from simple grain visualization (after removal of the coating) to the most complicated X-ray methods. All these methods are difficult to apply to on-line material characterization during or after the processing of electrical steel. Author developed the method of scanning of magnetic field called "the magnetovision". The magnetovision method enables to inspect the intrinsic material properties by visualization of the magnetic field distribution above the sample. This paper presents the magnetic field distribution above the GO steel sheet and corresponding grain structure.
