Abstract :
By embedding a parasitic open slot in the antenna ground of a mobile terminal antenna, enhanced bandwidth for the antenna´s lower band to cover the GSM850/900 operation (824-960 MHz) can be achieved. The antenna in this study is a coupled-fed shorted monopole with a working length of 47mm and a ground length of 100mm. The antenna can also provide a wide upper band to cover the GSM1800/1900/UMTS/LTE/ISM/IMT/WLAN/Wi-max operation, meeting the needs of mobile terminals for WWAN. Owing to the parasitic open slot, the dimensions of the working section decrease to 15×47mm2,and the ground section 100×30mm2. This study proposes an elaborate model design and simulation result of antenna with a parasitic open slot, which is an out- -standing deca-band WWAN operation design for mobile terminals.
