Abstract :
Summary form only given. One of promising materials for the ultra high recording density HDD media is L1/sub 0/-FePt ordered alloy because of its huge magnetic anisotropy energy. However, the high temperature heat treatment is indispensable to form the L1/sub 0/-FePt ordered alloy. It is a crucial issue for the application to the HDD. In this study, we report that the reduction of the ordering temperature of the L1/sub 0/-FePt succeeds by addition of Cu.
