Abstract :
This paper proposed the optimal rotor bar design of the permanent split capacitor (PSC) single-phase induction motor. The starting torque and motor efficiency were used as parameters for optimization. The Taguchi method was used in experimental designs for optimization of multiple parameters and the finite element method (FEM) analysis was used to compute and analyze the starting torque and motor efficiency.
