  • Abstract
    In this paper, a concentric circular-patch/ring-combination reflectarray element is proposed. To obtain a phase curve with a low slope in an adequate phase range, its size is optimized by parametric simulation in HFSS. Then, the electromagnetic behavior of proposed element is compared with that of a circular patch element and a concentric circular-patch/ring/ring-combination element. Utilizing the proposed element, a 13×13 elements reflectarray radiating at a direction of 30° is designed at the frequency of 10 GHz. Simulated results show that the peak gain of the reflectarray is 22.7dB and its half-power beamwidth in E-plane is 9.8°.
