Abstract :
In this study, we propose a novel admission selection algorithm for packet services in LTE/WiMAX integrated heterogeneous wireless networks. Alterable transmission units (ATUs) are applied to improve the performance of non-real-time services. Three-dimensional Markov queuing model is used to analyze system performance. It is observed from simulation that the new algorithm can significantly reduce the blocking rate of non-real-time services and increase resource utilization without affecting real-time services performance.
