Abstract
The authors investigate potential asynchronous transfer mode virtual path operation systems (ATM VP OpS) with a special focus on the leased-line services that will encourage the smooth penetration of ATM networks. They describe ATM VP OpS requirements after clarifying leased-line operation scenarios. An object-oriented modeling method is presented for operation system implementation. A highly effective ATM VP OpS system architecture is outlined
