Abstract :
Summary form only given. Irreversible measurements (such as M-H curve) are commonly used to quantify the unidirectional exchange coupling in F/AF bilayers. Reversible experimental techniques, such as ferromagnetic resonance and ac susceptibility are also employed but lead to different values for the exchange field. We have shown recently that a strong exchange field strength may be induced in NiFe/Mn bilayers after annealing. In order to study the effect of interdiffusion due to heat treatment, the exchange anisotropy field has been investigated in NiFe/Mn bilayers with different NiFe thicknesses from FMR and complex permeability spectra performed under and without external magnetic field.
