Abstract :
This work proposes a resistive network with a dyadic pyramidal structure which is capable of filtering signals or images in the Haar basis. Haar functions are the simplest wavelets and they are shown to be eigenfunctions for the network. Depending on the ratio of resistance values on different levels, the filtering may be weaker or stronger. Filtering examples are provided both on an 1D signal and a grayscale image. We approached here this structure only at system level, to illustrate the concept of Haar filtering using resistive networks. Further research may focus also on implementation issues.
