Abstract :
The aim of this study is to develop a compact and inexpensive driving system for a unique electrostatic film motor which is actuated by three-phase high voltages, the designed compact driving system contains a three-phase signal generator, a primary amplifier and a secondary amplifier. At first, the signal generator using direct digital synthesizer (DDS) is capable of easily generating high-frequency driving signals and rapidly accomplishing various control tasks (e.g., sampling sensor, computing control algorithms and so on). Next, the driving signals are amplified through two-stage amplifiers. The primary amplifier made from power operational amplifier circuits can amplify the driving signals to maximum around 40 Vp-p. The secondary amplifier adopts transformers to generate high voltage of over 1.8 kVp p. Finally, driving experiments have been performed and their results verify the validity of the designed driving system.
