Abstract :
This paper presents a collection of voltage and current signals in medium and low voltage installations aimed at providing a portrayal of the most common problems found during the operation of electrical systems. Although a number of practical situations are included, we present only a limited spectrum of waveform instability that can he found during the operation of certain types of equipment like rectifier/inverter wind power generators or variable frequency drives. Likewise, we show some waveform distortion cases caused by events like high impedance faults, ferroresonance during the opening of one phase in a three-phase feeder and LV commutation processes.
