Abstract :
Summary form only given. Spin valve systems based on thin multilayer films sputtered on Si substrates are well suited for sensor elements for the detection of weak magnetic fields, because of their sharp transition of the electric resistance at low magnetic fields. Films were patterned into meander-shaped Wheatstone bridges. In order to have a low noise level it is favorable to use bridges with stripe widths as large as possible.
