Abstract :
This paper presents a real-time controller for an activated sludge wastewater treatment plant. Initially, an approximate mathematical model is determined. Based on this model, different control strategies, Proportional Integral (PI), Fuzzy PI and PI Logarithm/Antilogarithm (PI L/A), are evaluated via simulation. Finally, the implementation, testing and fully operation of the plant automation are described. For this paper, the only implemented feedback loop is the dissolved oxygen one, which is very important in order to guarantee the adequate treatment of the wastewater.
