Abstract :
Bicycle riding is one of the most casual sports, and almost everyone owns a bicycle. However the bicycle industries currently have no effective management methods, including production management, theft and sale certification, so that bicycle-related industries are seeking to solve their problems by using RFID. RFID is a non-contact automatic identification technology; mainly it is composed by the identification code embedded in a chip and antenna to receive the data. Because bicycles are made of metal materials or advanced carbon fiber materials, all these materials will affect electromagnetic waves. And also, the bicycle production processes are subject to a lot of high temperature paint treatment. The Tags are also buried in the body for future identification after sale. Currently the bicycle industry prefers putting RFID tags under not easily noticed place. The only place is under the seat location packaged with RFID where LF combined with the special antenna and tag reader is used to successfully read and solve the problem of bicycle production and certification. However, the problem how to solve theft? RFID tags built with a memory can be entered with personal information, bicycle information, and so. The current RFID technology indeed can be applied in this context, and even the whole plate was proposed to be used with RFID to carry out the vehicles supervision, traffic management, anti-theft applications. However the privacy creates the greatest resistance because people do not want their whereabouts being traced. Integrated with GPS and GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), RFID is used for personal management. The problem of insufficient power supply will be solved by integrating with solar panels. Finally, the very light weight characteristics of UHF will be applied to the competition of human sports. RFID operation principles are: 1) Reader emits radio frequency signal when the RFID tag gets into the read range. 2) The energy obtained by induced- - current is used to send identification code, or reader takes the initiative to send the signal. 3) After reader reads the message, the message is decodes and then sent to application system to process for query, track, or statistical purposes. RFID applications cover in a wide range, most of which are vehicle access control, logistics management, container management, transportation fee system, automatic control and stored value cards. By using RFID characteristics such accessing a large data capacity, high portability, confidentiality and etc.. This paper implements a bicycle management system for anti-theft, certification, and competition to assist bicycle industry production and after-sales service. The RFID system integrated with image capture technology is used by the relevant industry for athletic competition to replace the manual record, and manage their time and personal safety for sports programs. UHF tags with almost no weight placed on athlete body during competition are integrated with cameras, GPS systems, and the 3G network to obtain the real-time game data. It can be applied to the competitions such as bicycling, walking and climbing to ensure real-time monitoring and the safety of athletes.
