Abstract :
The monthly market of East China power market (ECPM) started trial operation on May 18, 2004. This paper outlines the profile of the East China power grid and summarizes the development of ECPM. In particular, the paper describes the market structure that ECPM has selected, and analyzes the results of ECPM trial operation. The underlining rationale that determines the market behavior is explored, and recommendations for further improvement are provided.
