Abstract :
The authors analyze the effect of AM/AM and AM/PM conversions on spectral correlation of binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) and quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) signals. These conversions degrade the performance of many new spectral correlation based techniques for interference rejection, signal detection, and parameter estimation. These techniques require knowledge of the spectral correlation function (SCF) and cross spectral correlation function (XSCF). Closed-form expressions for SCF and XSCF in a practical nonlinear bandpass memoryless BPSK and QPSK channel are presented. The theoretical analyses are compared with simulation results
