Abstract :
This paper describes new phenomena, in terms of iron losses, observed in a magnetic circuit with non-oriented electrical steel laminations. These phenomena concern the impact on iron losses of low and high frequency superposition. The supply voltage formed by the superposition of two sinusoidal signals, different as regards the amplitude and frequency, is used to excite a magnetic circuit in low and high frequency with amplitudes controllable at any moment. The experimental results show that the impact of high frequency injection on low frequency iron losses and vice-versa cannot be ignored when considering the superposition principle. The explanation of this phenomenon might be attributable to the mechanism involved in the movement of Bloch walls in a way that, from energetic point of view, is observed an increasing energy expense of total magnetic field strength in order to be maintained the same levels of flux density spectral components.
