Abstract :
This paper has proposed a new fault location method for three terminal transmission lines. Once a fault occurs in a transmission line, high frequency transient components through travelling of the waves are appeared in all terminals. In this paper, S-transform is employed to detect the arrival time of these waves to terminals. For simulating various conditions, ATP-EMTP software and to process the proposed fault location method MATLAB software are used. The results have shown the good performance of the algorithm in different conditions.
