Abstract :
In this paper, an explanation of the design of an electronically tunable electrically-small antenna, operating in the ´DC´ mode is presented. Although this antenna has a narrow instantaneous bandwidth, electronic tuning allows a large band to be covered whilst maintaining the same good narrow-band operational characteristics. Evaluation of the antenna´s performance is provided by practical results, which consider: 3-D radiation patterns, efficiencies and non-linearities.
