Abstract
In this paper, a new approach for modeling and control of reactive power in microgrid is presented. This structure utilizes wind turbine driven doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). Firstly, the dynamics of voltage and reactive power of DFIG and synchronous generator are represented via a model. After that, a control system is designed for the microgrid reactive power. This control strategy is used to locally compensate the reactive power in islanding operation mode of microgrid. Finally, computer simulations provide a foundation to demonstrate the validity of the model and the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.
