Abstract :
The eGovRTD2020 project aimed at visions towards European citizenship and innovative Government. Its activities implied developing visionary scenarios of e-Government for 2020 as well as a detailed research roadmap for the transformation process. A methodology of scenario building, gap analysis and roadmap building was developed based on existing approaches, and it was successfully applied. The results were on the one hand a number of potential visions for government activity and interaction with its constituency via ICT. Apart from that, a number of gaps in current research to meet future visions as well as a list of research themes for the future were identified and elaborated as topics urgent to pursue. These themes include amongst others trust in e-Government, e-Participation, information quality, privacy and interoperability.
