Summary form only given. The objective of work. the work is part of the EU funded Helinet project for a telecommunications infrastructure based on unmanned stratospheric aircraft. The unconventional multi-disc axial flux brushless AC permanent magnet machine considered for the aircraft propeller drive system is described in this paper under the design and modeling point view.
