Abstract :
We propose to use a genetic algorithm for generating sub-optimum peak reduction carriers (PRCs) for OFDM systems employing a large number of sub-channels. Applying a genetic algorithm with optimum system parameters will dramatically reduce the overall computational complexity required to find the appropriate PRCs. Parameters such as the initial population size the number of PRCs, the QAM constellation size for the PRCs and position of the PRCs are the important factors which need to be considered in order to effectively apply the genetic algorithm for PAPR reduction.
