  • Abstract
In this paper, the Flower Constellation design theory is investigated to reduce the distance between each satellite in the formation. A single-factor concerned optimization method is presented by using two different approaches: creating a formation with specific geometric topology via projection of an arbitrarily defined shape onto a surface constructed with an infinite set of a particular Flower Constellation, and properly reducing the range of orbit node lines for a specified formation. The technique aiming to get a desired geometric shape for satellite formation is also analyzed.
