  • Abstract
    Energy saving is always a crucial issue since Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) network´s mobile terminal is energy constrained. Based on the energy saving strategy of cooperative data reception in cellular link and the cooperative transmitting between mobile terminals over short-range link, a multi-hop supported short-range cooperative strategy is introduced. The performance of energy saving is significantly improved while the node will cooperate with more nodes in the piconet. Up to 52% power saving can be achieved in a three node piconet according to the simulation as well as 7.6% more gains compared with the previous cooperative strategy under the same scenario.
