Abstract :
In this paper we address the problem of channel estimation in the case of single-input single-output (SISO) OFDM systems. The proposed technique is based on time-domain channel estimation whereas equalization is performed in frequency domain. The time-domain channel estimation/tracking stage is based on the Kalman filter. Due to the nature of OFDM transmission, equalization in frequency domain is done using single-tap zero-forcing of MMSE techniques. Improvements over existing methods are demonstrated in simulations using time and frequency selective channels.
