Abstract :
This paper deals with the utilization of "angular diversity" in GPR, which helps to improve clutter robustness as well as image resolution. The data is acquired by using multistatic antenna setups. Antenna setups allowing for multistatic acquisition by a number of mono- and bistatic channels in conjunction with a conventional two-port radar are presented. In a laboratory setup a multistatic configuration is achieved by an antenna array with switching capabilities to connect the radars transmit and receive port to any of the antenna elements. Measurements are performed and the "Factorization method" is proposed as an image formation scheme that requires only low computational effort. 3-D imaging results of free space measurements are presented and discussed.
