  • Abstract
    A novel slotted waveguide array antenna using a single layer feed circuit is proposed for entrance radio systems in mobile communication. It consists of two components, that is, a slot plate and a base one and the total thickness is only about 1 cm. Such a thin antenna harmonizes with small and slender base station antennas and will find wide applicability for relatively small buildings. The test antenna has antenna efficiency 62% and covers 600 MHz frequency bandwidth in the 22 GHz band with 33 dBi of gain. A single layer slotted waveguide array is a candidate for a low cost, high gain and efficiency antenna in such a high frequency band
