Abstract
A model problem of 1D permittivity profile reconstruction from GPR data is considered. An approximate integral representation of the reflected pulse is given, based on the coupled WKB equations transformed into time domain. With the input pulse waveform given, this integral equation yields an explicit formula for the ground permittivity distribution. Numerical simulation demonstrates high accuracy of the proposed approximate solution in a wide range of the soil parameters.
