Abstract :
The combination of the OFDM transmission technique with a channel adaptive FDMA multiple access can increase the bandwidth efficiency and flexibility of a communication system. However, in an environment with mobile users inter carrier interference and the time-variance of the channel transfer function demand for robust system design which can tolerate these impairments while still maintaining the required system performance. In this paper the impact of different effects of user mobility are studied for an OFDM uplink and compared before the background of their influence on the overall system performance. A system will be proposed that offers the same performance as a conventional OFDM uplink system even under these conditions.
