Abstract :
Physical asset management is a section with growing importance in utility companies. Asset management is recommended to function simultaneously at operational, tactical and strategic level to realize organizational strategic plans with technical solutions. Currently, tactical asset management is well established with risk analysis. However, at a strategic level, new analytical tools are needed to deal with realization of the multiple, interdependent organizational strategic plans. Therefore, to address this lack of tools, we will apply a system view on the strategic asset management level and model the interdependencies in the system at this level. In conclusion, asset owners and asset managers can utilize this developed system view to investigate influences of multiple organizational strategic plans, translate them into business values and tackle them using technical solutions.
