Abstract :
In recent years, the area of microstrip antennas has emerged as one of the most dynamic and indigenous field. The accession of new technologies insist upon the antennas having efficient designs and reduced sizes thereby covering a wider frequency range for numerous applications. In this paper, a monopole microstrip patch antenna is presented for Ultra- Wideband applications. The antenna is designed and simulated using three-dimensional electromagnetic field software HFSS 11. The properties of antenna such as return loss and radiation patterns are investigated using different dielectrics as substrate and at various operating frequencies in the UWB range.
