Abstract :
A small size coupled fed antenna with two printed meander line strips for multiband operation covering GSM 900/1800/1900/ UMTS 2100 and UWB for mobile phone is proposed. The small size yet wideband operation is achieved by incorporating a feeding strip and two radiating strips of different lengths, which are printed on the no- ground portion of the system circuit board. In addition, the proposed antenna occupies only a planar size of 15 × 30 mm2 and this planar and folded structures, are suitable for slim mobile phone application. Detailed considerations of the design and main parameters are studied and the proposed antenna is successfully simulated, fabricated, and measured.
