Abstract :
In this paper, the application of agent-based models for abnormal situation management in supply chains is presented. Two views of what an abnormal situation entails are considered i.e. performance-based and plan-based. The possible implementations of both perspectives are illustrated by agent-based models of an oil refinery supply chain and a lube oil supply chain facing with disruptions in transportation or demand. The discussion of the experimental results of the models in which the systems have to deal with a disruption concludes the paper.
