Abstract :
Considers the temporal encoding of visual images, when the distribution of light intensities in the receptive field is converted into a sequence of uniform pulses. The term `simple image´ is used to designate an image consisting of a single figure (pattern) against a homogeneous background. The rules governing operation of the functional units of cybernetic systems performing image encoding are considered. The proposed algorithm for invariant encoding is of sequential nature
