  • Abstract
The preliminary design of the Residential District Planning is important, if the planning is designed improperly, the wind speed in part of the residential area may be too high, leading to a bad impact on the comfort and even security of the pedestrians around the buildings. In view of the difficulty in quantifying the impact of building arrangement on the wind speed, orthogonal design is used to determine the required simulation condition, and the relation between the wind speed ratio at the passers-by height and the building volume and layout will be simulated by CFD software AIRPAK. And the quantification function relation is obtained between the wind speed ratio at the passers-by height and the building height, length and the distance between buildings based on the data of linear regression. The conclusion is that the building length and height have more impact on the wind speed ratio at the passers-by height than the distance between buildings.
