Abstract :
This paper studies the environmental geological problems about collapse and background in Pinglu district of Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province and provides geological bases for the economic and social sustainable development, ecological environment construction and protection of the district. The authors investigated the environmental geological background, collected and arranged the information in this field. By analyzing collapse-causing factors, the area is divided into four types: high susceptible area, middle susceptible are, low susceptible area, difficult susceptible area. A map of collapse hazard susceptible degree is made, based on the studies of the quantitative indices (formation lithology, new structure activities and earthquake, gradient, rainfall, slop height, engineer activities, happening scale and frequency of collapse, death and threatened toll et al.). And the collapse hazard risk of the area is comprehensively assessed.
