Abstract :
Most imaging algorithms and CPR hardware designs assume data collection along planar interfaces. We derive imaging algorithms for cylindrical interfaces and describe the hardware modifications used to improve data quality by improving antenna coupling along the curved surface. Our forward model accurately describes travel times and interference features of targets observed in measured data. Diffraction summation migrates data using the forward model for a point diffractor in a cylindrical column. We take a novel mathematical approach to diffraction summation by convolving the data with a kernel to perform the summations. This approach provides an efficient and simple imaging algorithm development from the forward model. Physical data sets of known targets in concrete columns demonstrate the utility of the imaging algorithm designed for cylindrical interfaces.
